How to use Stripe if you're a Moroccan travel agency

The tourism market is increasingly global, and offers us multiple possibilities to move towards greater optimization of the work of travel agencies. One of the main aspects that offer ample room for improvement is the area of client-agency payments.

Through its app, MOGU offers solutions to agencies to solve the various difficulties that may arise when integrating payments into this optimization and digitalization process, since MOGU aims to lead the fintravel vertical as an integrated payment system in the tourism sector. The fintravel proposed by MOGU includes facilities such as one-click payments from the proposals, managing charges for group trips or charging customers at their destination from the app, among others.

To this end, MOGU uses one of the most prestigious international payment gateways that offer the best solutions: these are Stripe, which offers products that enable payments for retailers that operate on the Internet and in person, companies that work with subscriptions, platforms for software, Marketplaces and much more.

Stripe is deployed in 47 countries (Here you can see exactly in which), giving it a powerful margin of action. However, it is not yet authorized for use in Morocco, one of Spain's main trading partners and a key element in the tourism sector.

Does this mean that if I'm a Moroccan travel agency I can't work with MOGU? Not at all: we offer you an alternative so that you can sign up for our travel management platform and start transacting with us through Stripe in a simple and fast way. Keep reading!

Any travel agency registered with MOGU that wants to use the payment links must fill out a form to verify their account (Here we explain step by step how to do it), where you are asked, among other information, to enter an IBAN. This bank information must correspond to an account in one of the countries where Stripe operates. If you are a Moroccan travel agency, including the IBAN of your local bank will not allow you to continue, so you must follow these steps to solve it and be able to enter a valid bank account:

We are going to create a multi-currency account in Wise, a globally known platform for making transfers in different currencies that offers us a very interesting functionality: when creating the account and operating from a virtual card, Wise automatically generates an IBAN for the country that interests you, and that is precisely the data that we are going to enter in Stripe to allow us to complete the registration

Wise will give you the option of creating a personal account or a business account: we must choose the Personal account and proceed with the verification process. We will be asked for a photo of our identity document on the front and back and an identification photo. With that, we will have our account created with our corresponding IBAN to indicate it in Stripe and complete the account verification form.

This way you can start working with MOGU from Morocco from day one, thus expanding the service you offer to your customers.
